Dramatic video shows the moment a pregnant woman was rescued from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship after suffering medical complications.
The woman, who was 28 weeks pregnant, was airlifted from the Mariner of the Seas on Tuesday evening by a Coast Guard helicopter. She was taken to a hospital in Puerto Rico, where she is in stable condition.
The rescue operation was captured on video by a passenger on the cruise ship. The video shows the woman being lowered from the ship on a stretcher and then being airlifted to the helicopter.
Royal Caribbean said in a statement that the woman was experiencing "pregnancy-related complications" and that the decision was made to evacuate her from the ship "out of an abundance of caution."
The cruise ship was on a seven-day cruise from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to the Bahamas. It was about 120 miles off the coast of Puerto Rico when the woman began experiencing medical problems.
